5 Rabbit Brewery is quickly becoming one of our favorites here at On Tap.  We’ve tried 5 Lizard, and last week 5 Vulture, and this week we tackle 5 Grass.  This is a self described Hoppy Ale, and it was pretty good.  For a “Hoppy” ale, it wasn’t overpowering with hops.  Instead, what you get is a really smooth, crisp, well balanced ale with some nice hop flavors without a lot of the bitterness.  I really liked this one.  It brought some nice citrus and spice to the dance with a malty smooth undertone.  Good stuff here.

Ryan gave it a 7.2, Shane and I both gave it a 7.5.

Shane thinks a pork tenderloin sandwich with mushrooms, provolone and a side of bbq would go great with 5 Grass.  I think he’s right.

Since Independence Day falls during the work week, members of St. Richard Catholic Church celebrated the holiday on Sunday, June 30, 2013, with a picnic-style outing complete with fireworks that could be seen throughout the northeast Jackson, Miss. neighborhood.
