So they can’t all be winners. It happens. Now, I’m not saying that Dixie Amber Light is a bad beer, it just doesn’t do much of anything for me, or for Ryan. Dixie Amber Light pours out pretty thin with no head to speak of and very little carbonation. It’s aroma is very light… as is it’s flavor. It has a watery mouth feel and leaves almost no after taste.
Now, that could be good for you. If you want a crisp, smooth drinking beer, this is definitely it. It just doesn’t pack a lot of flavor. It wasn’t my cup of tea. It’s not undrinkable, it’s just not very memorable.
Ryan and I gave this one a 5. We thought if you’re going to go so mild with a beer, you want big flavor for you food, so grab yourself The Godfather from Rosati’s. It’s packed with Italian sausage, fresh garlic, hot giardiniera and grilled onions. Plenty of flavor to compensate for a pretty unassuming beer.
