Rosatis

On Tap is brought to you by Rosati’s Pizza, 701 S. Gregory, Urbana.  217-328-2334.

This week we picked up an IPA from over in Indianapolis from Flat12 Bierwerks called Half Cycle IPA.  I picked this up because I know Shane from Rosati’s likes his IPA’s and I felt like I owed him one.  I think this one delivered nicely.

This one comes out strong with the hops.  That’s your dominant flavor.  Hops.  There’s also some citrus with a grapefruit, orange peel vibe happening.  There are hints of malt sweetness there, but we had our a bit cold so that may come out more if you don’t drink it as cold as we did.

Shane’s Rating:  8.0

Ryan’s Rating:  7.5

My Rating:  Just the Beer: 6.0  With the food pairing 7.5

Shane brought in a Blue Cheese Stuffed Cheese burger that was absolutely fantastic with this Half Cycle IPA.  With this burger, it really was like drinking a different beer.  The blue cheese and the hops in this beer were made for each other.  This is a winning combo.
