So today we get geared up for St. Pattrick’s Day.  We’ve lined up a bunch of beers.
And since it’s St. Patty’s Day, everything in Irish.

We start with a couple of Irish Red Ales.

The Reds

First up is a new (to us any way) Guiness Red Harvest Stout.  This was a bit underwhelming.  Ryan and I both really like Guiness, but this one felt like a small step back.  It just didn’t have the punch that Guiness has.  It wasn’t bad.  A bit thin, and maybe a little sweeter than the regular brew.  Ryan and Shane gave it a 4, I gave it a 5.  But for those of you who think Guiness is too much, this might be up your alley.

Next up was O’hara’s Irish Red.  Now this one kicked things up a bit.  It comes through with some surprising hops in there that we weren’t expecting.  Add that to the maltiness and smoothness of the irish red and you’ve got a really good brew.  Ryan gave this a 7.5, Shane gave it an 8, while I gave it a straight up 7.

Next up: two more reds.
