On Tap 3/7/14: Blue Star Wheat Beer

On Tap is brought to you by Rosati’s Pizza, 701 S. Gregory, Urbana.  217-328-2334.

This On Tap is a bit different, because we built it from the food first, not the beer first.  I mentioned to Shane last week that I had tried some BBQ Spaghetti while in Memphis and he said he had to give it a try.  Well, he brought in some awesome BBQ Spaghetti and it rocked.

The picture doesn’t do this justice.  This was awesome.  So I had a Blue Star Wheat Beer from North Coast Brewing and thought it just might work together and it did.  This is a really refreshing beer with some citris aroma right up front and some lemony flavors throughout.  Theres a hint of a creamier texture in there as well, Ryan thought maybe butterscotch.  And a nice slightly sour finish.

My Score:  7.5

Ryan’s Score:  7.5

Shane’s Score:  7.0

I feel bad for Blue Star Wheat Beer, because it really is a solid beer, but we were so into the BBQ Spaghetti, the beer almost got over shadowed.  But seriously, I hope Shane adds this to the menu, because it’s that good.
