This is a big week for On Tap.  We’re drinking Dock Street Walker from Dock Street Brewing in Philly.  This is a special beer they brewed up for the Season Four Finale of AMC’s The Walking Dead.  Since they wanted to pay homage to the show, they decided to brew it with brains.  Actual brains.  Roasted goat brains to be precise.  I’m not going to lie to you, Shane, Ryan, and I were all a little bit intimidated by this one.  But we opened ‘er up and went for it… and it was really good.  We were all a bit surprised by just how good Walker is.  It’s smooth, a bit creamy, has subtle smokey tones throughout, and the cranberries add just enough tartness to even Walker out into a really well balanced beer.

All three of us rate this beer an 8.2.  It gets a solid 8 for being a really good, unique beer that we would all seek out and drink again.  The .2 comes from the fact that you can’t get Walker outside of Philly and we feel pretty special about being able to try it.

Shane had the tough job of pairing this beer with food, but he knocked it out of the park with Rosati’s Antipasto Salad with basalmic vinegrette. Seriously good combo.
