We wrap up Cider Fest with the cider that intrigued me the most, Dry Hopped Cider from Woodchuck. I saved this for last because I thought our resident Hop Head, Shane, would like it the most. And he did like it, but it wasn’t his favorite. I think he and Squish both were hoping for more hop than this delivered. I enjoyed the hop flavor and didn’t miss the hop bitterness. This was a pretty balanced sweet/hop brew that really surprised. I was more suprised that Ryan liked this cider the best of all of them. Not being a Hopper, I thinkk he was surprised as well. But it was more about how the over all flavor and balance won him over, than the hops themselves.
I was the boat anchor an this one. While I liked this one, I wasn’t as enthralled with it as everyone else. Oddly, I think I wanted more hops, which I almost never want. Over all, even though I gave it a 5.0, I would still recommend it. It’s a solid cider.
I was completely happy with our mini Cider Fest today. Four very different, yet all very solid, drinkable ciders. Give any, or all of these ciders a try. That’s what On Tap is all about. Introducing you to new and different brews. Because you might be missing out on your new favorite brew, you just have to go out there and give it a try.
