On Tap

Red Planet Ale
Red Planet Ale

Rosatis

On Tap is brought to you by Rosati’s Pizza, 701 S. Gregory, Urbana.

This week, it’s Red Planet Ale from Horny Goat Brewing.  I like Horny Goat.  They’ve got some nice tongue in cheek beers that are really solid brews, so I was looking forward to this one.  As the name suggests, it’s a red ale, and I liked it.  It delivers on being a smooth, flavorful beer without being over bearing in any way.  I dig that.  Shane, Ryan and Squish all agreed that they liked it, but they just weren’t blown away by it.  All in all though, this one is a winner.

Ratings:
Me: 7.5
Shane: 6.5
Ryan: 6.5
Squish: 6.5

This beer matched up really well with the pizza Shane brought in.  BBQ Pizza with italian beef, sausage, bacon, giardinara juice.  The spice was just right with this very drinkable red ale.

Since Independence Day falls during the work week, members of St. Richard Catholic Church celebrated the holiday on Sunday, June 30, 2013, with a picnic-style outing complete with fireworks that could be seen throughout the northeast Jackson, Miss. neighborhood.
