Red Rocket Ale

On Tap is brought to you by Rosati’s Pizza, 701 S. Gregory, Urabana.  328-2334.

This week, Shane and Ryan are both in house to join me for some Red Rocket Ale, from Bear Republic Brewing Co.  This thing is a “meaty” little beer.  The folks from Bear Republic call this a “bastardized Scottish Ale”.  It pours with a nice dark red, caramel color.  There’s a good nose on this one with some hops, some sweet, dark fruit notes coming through.  And it tastes really good.  There’s definitely some caramel in there with some hints of raisin in there, and it finishes with a spicy, peppery hops aftertaste.  The hops aren’t bitter, just spicy, tasty and delicious.

Ryan and I give this a rock solid 8.5 while Shane bumps it up to a 9, which for him is pretty good.  Shane thinks the Combo Sandwich from Rosati’s would pair perfectly with this, and I think he’s right.  Sausage covered with beef and cheese…mmm, that’s a good little combo right there.

REVIEW: ‘How To Be Single’ feels the same while trying too hard to be different

22-overlay-9

"How to Be Single" makes a valiant attempt to send up rom-com clichés but it borrows so much from other, better movies that you start to wonder if the film’s title should be "How to Commit Larceny."
