I’ve never had a “barleywine style ale” before, so this was a very pleasant surprise.  Schlafley has put together a very big flavored beer that goes down really smooth yet has some of the most big and complex flavors in one bottle.  None of those big flavors dominate the other.  It’s warm yet citrusy, with an almost charred woody after taste.  There’s some warm from the malt, some nice hoppiness going on.  Basically this is a dang fine beer.  Matt gave it his very first 10.0, and I gave it a 9.5.  This thing rocks.

Shane thinks anything would go great with this beer (and I think he’s right) bit if it were him, he’d pair it up with some lasagna from Rosati’s.  That’s a great call.
