Arcola teen charged with attempted murder in weekend stabbing

ARCOLA, Ill. (Chambana Today) — An 18-year-old from Arcola accused of stabbing four people and sending them to the hospital made his first court appearance Tuesday.

Samuel Garcia faces four counts of attempted murder and four counts of aggravated battery with a deadly weapon, according to court documents. The charges stem from an incident that left four victims with injuries ranging from minor to life-threatening.

Garcia was ordered to remain in custody until his detention hearing on Wednesday. Following that, he is scheduled to return to court on November 26 for a preliminary hearing.

Authorities have not released additional details about what led up to the attack, but the investigation remains ongoing.
