Black Mental Health and Wellness Conference returning to Champaign for third year

CHAMPAIGN, IL (Chambana Today) – The Black Mental Health and Wellness Conference is back for its third year, and registration is now open.

The conference is set to take place on September 20 at Parkland College from 8 am to 4 p.m. This year’s conference looks to build on the momentum of previous years and offer a comprehensive and culturally-centered approach to mental wellness. Attendees can expect meaningful conversations, interactive sessions, and actionable strategies for improving mental health outcomes in the community.

Breakfast and lunch will be provided, with vegetarian and gluten-free options available.

Local mental health professionals will cover the following eight topics:

  • Trauma Informed Approach to Professional Well-Being
  • Supporting and Strengthening Black Youth Mental Health
  • Impact of Domestic Violence
  • Mental Health and the Black Church
  • Navigating Difficult Conversations
  • Addictive Behaviors and Mental Health
  • Emotional Intelligence: Building Resilience and Positive Mental Health
  • Black and White: Healing Racialized Trauma and Reimagining Equity

These sessions are designed to inform and equip participants with culturally relevant tools for healing, advocacy, and long-term mental wellness. Whether you’re a professional, a student, or a community member, this conference offers something for everyone committed to advancing mental health and well-being.

There is no registration fee, but those interested in attending should register ahead of time by filling out the registration form.
