DANVILLE, IL (Chambana Today) — A ceremony was held on Monday, February 9 at the Carle Danville Medical Office Center at The Riverfront to celebrate the heroic actions of two Carle Arrow Ambulance paramedics.

Paramedics Joe Blew and Adam Harris were honored with a Certificate of Extraordinary Personal Action, an American Red Cross National Lifesaving Award. The Illinois Red Cross recognizes their actions to rescue an unconscious driver from a burning vehicle last year, entering dangerous conditions to conduct this rescue to render aid to the patient.

“Joe Blew and Adam Harris went above and beyond the call of duty to rescue this patient,” Justin Stalter, director of Carle Arrow Ambulance, said. “Their passion, clinical excellence and compassion exemplify the values of Arrow Ambulance. We’re incredibly grateful to count them as members of our team and proud of the recognition they are receiving from the Illinois Red Cross.”
