Champaign County Crime Stoppers seeking assistance in December retail theft at TJ Maxx

CHAMPAIGN, IL (Chambana Today) — Champaign County Crime Stoppers is seeking help from the public in regards to a retail theft incident.

On December 3, 2025 at 3:44 p.m., two females entered TJ Maxx at 21 East Marketview Drive in Champaign. The pair grabbed bags and then numerous two-piece clothing sets, removing the alarm devices from the clothing, and concealed the items in the bags. They then proceeded to the exit and did not stop to make payment. Employees retrieved $800 worth of clothing the suspects dropped, but the suspects were said to have fled with $1,000 in stolen merchandise.

The suspects were described as black females aged 20-30 years old. One suspect was described as having black hair in a ponytail and was last seen wearing a black jacket, gray hoodie, gray sweatpants, and gray shoes. The second suspect was described as having black and brown hair and wearing a rose gold jacket, pink pants, and pink/white shoes.
