Champaign Crime Stoppers Seeks Tips in TJ Maxx Theft

CHAMPAIGN, IL (Chambana Today) — Champaign County Crime Stoppers is asking the public for help solving a retail theft that occurred at the TJ Maxx on East Marketview Drive on December 3, 2025.

Officials say two women entered the store, grabbed bags, removed alarm devices from numerous two-piece clothing sets, and left without paying. Employees were able to recover $800 worth of clothing, but $1,000 remains missing.

The women are described as Black, between 20 and 30 years old. One wore a black jacket, gray hoodie and sweatpants, and gray shoes; the other wore a rose-gold jacket, pink pants, and pink-and-white shoes.
