Urbana, Ill. (Chambana Today) — Downtown Urbana will be filled with color and celebration this weekend as Pride Fest 2025 takes place on Saturday, October 25. The City of Urbana’s Public Works Department has approved special event permits for the day-long celebration, which will include a vendor fair, parade, and community activities celebrating inclusivity and LGBTQ+ pride.

Several streets will be closed from 8:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. to accommodate the festivities. Those include Main Street from the Main Street/Springfield Avenue split to Broadway Avenue, Race Street from Elm Street to one block north of Main, and Water Street between Broadway Avenue and Vine Street. West Elm Street will also be closed between South Cedar Street and South Race Street from noon to 8 p.m.

The Pride Fest parade will begin at 1 p.m., with rolling closures along Illinois Street, Race Street, Elm Street, and Broadway Avenue until approximately 2:30 p.m. Roads will reopen as the parade passes each section.

Parking restrictions will be in effect in several downtown lots and on nearby streets beginning at 6 a.m. Saturday to allow for parade staging and bus reroutes.

Questions about closures or parking may be directed to Urbana Public Works at 217-384-2342 or by email at vince.gustafson@urbanail.gov.
