CHAMPAIGN, Ill. (Chambana Today) — The Girl Scouts of Central Illinois (GCSI) is holding the grand opening celebration of its newly relocated Champaign Service Center on Sunday, August 24, from 1 to 4 p.m. at 1808 East Round Barn Road in Champaign.
The community is invited to join in on the festivities and explore the enhanced, girl-focused space designed to inspire discovery, creativity, and leadership. The new service center features expanded program areas and a larger Trefoil Boutique, as well as a Build-A Bear Workshop®, and opportunities for hands-on fun. In addition to tours and troop information, the grand opening celebration includes:
- Build-A-Bear Workshop® experience – create your own furry friend
- Dope Slimes™ station – craft your own slime sundae
- Ice Daddy’s – free small ice cream cone or shaved ice for the first 50 guests (served
from 1–3 p.m.) - Live broadcast by Mix 94.5 radio station
The new facility includes space for workshops, troop meetings, and trainings, which will help GSCI better serve current and future members. The in-house Build-A-Bear Workshop®, which is open to the public, includes exclusive Girl Scout-themed bears and accessories, alongside other popular characters and plush items.
