CHAMPAIGN COUNTY, Ill. (Chambana Today) – Habitat for Humanity of Champaign County will celebrate its 141st home dedication on Tuesday, November 25, at 5:30 p.m., marking a life-changing milestone for Concetta Hudson and her family. The dedication ceremony, which includes a house blessing, will take place at the Hudson family’s new home in Rantoul. (The address will be provided upon request.)

For Concetta, this home represents much more than just a place to live; it symbolizes security, stability, and a fresh start for her and her two children. A longtime resident of the Champaign-Urbana area and a caregiver with the State of Illinois Department of Human Services, Concetta has dreamed of owning a stable home for her family. Now, that dream is a reality.

“It is life changing. I will have no more worries about finding a place to live. My kids and I will have a forever home,” said Hudson. She’s particularly excited that her children will have their own backyard to play in—something they’ve never had before.

Habitat for Humanity’s 141st home was built with support from the Housing Authority of Champaign County YouthBuild. Since 1991, Habitat for Humanity of Champaign County has helped families achieve homeownership through partnership, building strong communities and fostering self-reliance.
