CHAMPAIGN, IL (Chambana Today) – Illinois Fighting Illini wide receiver Patrick Bryant has officially announced he will forgo the team’s upcoming bowl game to prepare for the 2025 NFL Draft. Head coach Bret Bielema confirmed the news Thursday, marking the end of Bryant’s college career.

Bryant, a senior, had a standout season, recording 54 receptions for 984 yards and 10 touchdowns — tying the Illinois single-season touchdown record. Over his four-year career, Bryant totaled 137 catches for 2,095 receiving yards and 19 touchdowns, cementing his place as one of the most productive receivers in program history.

Earlier this week, Bryant earned second-team All-Big Ten honors before declaring for the draft. His decision to skip the bowl game reflects his focus on the next chapter in his football journey. Bryant’s departure leaves a significant void in the Illini offense as they prepare for their postseason appearance. However, the team remains supportive of his decision and proud of his contributions to the program.
