SPRINGFIELD, IL (Chambana Today) — The Illinois Department of Employment Security has announced that 1099-G tax forms are now available for individuals who received unemployment insurance benefits in 2025.

The 1099-G form, also known as “Certain Government Payments,” is required for claimants to complete their state and federal tax returns. Anyone who collected unemployment benefits last year will need the form for tax filing purposes.

Claimants who opted to receive the form electronically have been notified by email with instructions to access it through their IDES account. Those who did not select electronic delivery will receive a paper copy by mail at the address on file.

All claimants may also access their 1099-G form by logging into their IDES account online or by calling Tele-Serve at 312-338-4337. The last seven years of 1099-G forms are available through online accounts. IDES online access requires ILogin verification.

Individuals who have not received their form or cannot access it electronically may schedule an in-person pickup appointment at a local IDES office. Appointments can be made online during designated weekday hours. For additional assistance, claimants may call the IDES scheduling hotline at 217-558-0401 or the department’s customer service line at 800-244-5631.
