GIBSON CITY, Ill (Chambana Today) – The Illinois State Police (ISP) Division of Criminal Investigation (DCI) Zone 5 is actively searching for 70-year-old David Jordan, who is wanted in connection with the shooting of two law enforcement officers in Gibson City on August 9.

According to authorities, officers from the Gibson City Police Department and the Ford County Sheriff’s Office responded to a call about a naked man in the 100 block of Ash Street around 2:31 a.m. When they attempted to make contact with the individual—later identified as Jordan—gunfire erupted, injuring a GCPD officer and a FCSO deputy.

The deputy, a six-year veteran, sustained gunshot wounds to the left knee and arm. The GCPD officer, on the force for one year, was hit in the left hip. Neither officer discharged their weapon during the incident. Both were hospitalized and released the following day. They have been placed on paid administrative leave while the investigation continues.

Authorities stress that while there is no current threat to the public, Jordan should not be approached. Anyone with information about his location is urged to contact local law enforcement or submit a tip through the ISP Crime Tip website.

The investigation remains ongoing, and no further information has been released at this time.
