CHAMPAIGN, Ill. (Chambana Today) — Budding basketball players across Central Illinois will have the chance to train with a hometown hero this fall. Chicago Bulls guard and Illinois basketball standout Ayo Dosunmu is bringing his FlexWork Youth Basketball Camp to Champaign on September 13 at the Leonhard Recreation Center, located at 2307 Sangamon Drive.

The camp runs from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and is open to youth ages 6 to 16, offering a high-energy, hands-on basketball experience designed to teach both fundamentals and advanced skills in a supportive environment.

The first hour of the camp will be dedicated to check-in, group assignments, and giveaways from event sponsors, with the rest of the day packed with instructional drills, skill stations, and team competition. Campers will be grouped by age to ensure balanced instruction and play.

Organizers say participants can expect an unforgettable experience. “Whether your child is new to the sport or already playing competitively, this camp is built to help them grow as athletes and teammates,” said representatives from FlexWork Sports, which manages the event.

Each camper will receive:

  • A team photo with Ayo Dosunmu (emailed within 7–10 business days)

  • A limited-edition FlexWork camp T-shirt

  • Giveaways and swag from local and national sponsors (while supplies last)

Campers are encouraged to come dressed in athletic attire—gym shorts and sneakers—and bring energy, enthusiasm, and a willingness to learn.

Registration is open online, and prices are subject to increase based on availability. Families registering more than one camper are asked to sign up each child separately.
