Portions of Springfield and Matthews to be closed for U of I’s Engineering Open House this week

URBANA, IL (Chambana Today) — The U of I’s Engineering Open House is coming this week, and while it will provide hundreds of students with hands-on opportunities to learn, it may also come with some adjustments to your route on the road.

From 7 p.m. on Thursday, April 9 to approximately 6 p.m. on Saturday, April 11, the following streets will be closed to through traffic:

  • West Springfield Avenue between South Wright Street and South Matthews Avenue
  • North Matthews Avenue between West Springfield Avenue and West Green Street
