CHAMPAIGN, Ill. (Chambana Today) — The University of Illinois Extension is launching a SNAP-Ed Holiday Food Drive to support Champaign County families. Community members are invited to drop off non-perishable food items from Monday, November 10 through Wednesday, November 26.

Donations can be dropped off at 801 North Country Fair Drive in Champaign from Monday through Friday between 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. All collected items will be distributed to local food pantries and families who could use a little extra support this holiday season.

“We know that the holidays can be a challenging time for many families,” said Tracy Bowden, University of Illinois SNAP-Ed educator. “Every food item donated helps ensure that our neighbors have nutritious meals to enjoy during the season.”

Suggested donations include canned goods, pasta, rice, cereal, and other shelf-stable items.

For more information, contact Tracy Bowden at tbowden@illinois.edu.
