MONTICELLO, Ill. (Chambana Today) — The University of Illinois Extension is cultivating curiosity in young minds with the launch of Little Sprouts, a free gardening and nature program designed for children ages 3 to 5. Hosted by Piatt County Master Gardeners and 4-H, the program provides an engaging introduction to the world of plants and the environment.

Taking place at the Blue Ridge Township Public Library in Mansfield, Little Sprouts offers two upcoming sessions on November 22 and December 13. Each session is packed with interactive activities, from exploring fall leaves to discovering the textures and shapes of evergreen trees and creating a take-home pine needle jar.

“Each month, we will share a story with the children and provide a fun nature-themed activity,” says Horticulture Program Coordinator Beth Miglin.

The program is free, but advance registration is required. Parents or guardians must accompany their child during each session.

To register, visit go.illinois.edu/LittleSprouts. The University of Illinois Extension provides equal opportunities in its programs. For accommodations, contact 217-762-2191.
