A Little Bit of Awesome: 10/6/2020 Edition

A Washington State veteran Ron Jacobson, AKA “Grandpa Ron”, is being honored for his volunteer work at a local school. Before the shutdown he had logged 900 volunteer hours working with kids, and during the shutdown he continued to mentor students. The 75-year-old is now spokesperson for the Veterans of Foreign Wars’ #StillServing campaign which highlights veterans that continue to serve even after leaving active duty. This guy was at a restaurant where the employees take turns singing. And when a server put the mic in front of him during “Let It Go”, he surprised everyone with his amazing voice. Check it out RIGHT HERE.


In January, 30-year-old Mark Rofe was having trouble finding someone using dating apps… so naturally he bought a 20-foot wide billboard to get a few dates. It read “Single? Date Mark. This could be the sign you’ve been waiting for.” Turns out Mark was onto something because now he has a girlfriend! She is a 28-year-old writer. This is an old interview of him talking about buying the billboard.
