A Little Bit of Awesome: 4/2/18 Edition

We already know that Jon Bon Jovi is pretty awesome, but here’s more proof. He wrote a not to excuse his opening act from class because they’re high school students!
A band called The Contagious was picked to open for BON JOVI in Dallas last Monday . . . but there they are all sophomores in HIGH SCHOOL . . . and they had classes that day.
So, JON BON JOVI wrote them a permission slip to get them the day off. It said, quote, “To whom it may concern, please excuse the members of The Contagious for being absent from school . . .
“They were busy being my opening act and kicking butt.”

From The Contagious Facebook Page:

When I was growing up, my mom, and Mr. Rogers, both told me, when you find yourself in trouble or needing help, find a person in uniform. Well, this guy apparently found himself in need of help, but not the kind you think.
He’s a 34-year-old guy in Ludwigshafen, Germany and he did what my mom said to do and found a person in uniform… he went into a police station. The thing he needed help with? He wanted to break up with his girlfriend and he didn’t know how. So he was hoping the cops could help. And . . . they actually DID.
A female officer sat with him, talked things out, and helped him come up with the right things to say to explain to his girlfriend why he was ending things. While they didn’t break up with her for him, they did give him a hand, and that is pretty awesome.

If you need a new gig and aren’t concerned about the dress code, this job could be right up your alley. There’s a nudist resort in Rhode Island is looking for a lifeguard. It pays up to $14-an-hour for the summer, and wearing a bathing suit is optional . . . but not encouraged.  If you’re interested, you can get more info HERE.

There’s a seven-year-old kid, Madden Humphreys, in Oklahoma who was born with a cleft palate and two different-colored eyes. And his mom recently adopted a cat that looks EXACTLY like him . . . one of its eyes is blue, the other’s hazel, AND it has a cleft lip. It turned out it was at a shelter in Minnesota. So a bunch of friends and random strangers chipped in to pay for a road trip. Then they drove up north and ADOPTED it.
Plus, last summer, Madden made a video about being bullied, and it’s pretty awesome.
Check out his awesome video HERE.
