A Little Bit of Awesome: 4/23/18 Edition

So Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson is awesome. We know this. And this weekend, he  proved it once again. And 18 year old senior, Katie Kelzenberg asked The Rock to escort her to prom. And while he couldn’t make the prom due to his schedule, he did respond to her. Not only did he send her a personal response, he rented out an entire movie theater for her and her friends to see his new film, Rampage. Pretty awesome.

It’s hard to believe, but the first-ever YouTube video was posted 13 years ago TODAY. I know! Crazy. So what was it? Well, it’s an 18-second clip of one of the co-founders standing in front of an elephant pen at the San Diego Zoo. Fittingly, it’s called “Me at the Zoo”. Luckily, people found other things to post on YouTube. Sure, it’s filled with odd, but overall, YouTube is awesome.

Bartolo Colon is a 44-year-old pitcher for the Texas Rangers who weighs 285 pounds. But somehow he outran Dee Gordon of the Seattle Mariners to get an out at first base on Saturday. You can check out the hustle HERE.

The YouTube channel, Kurzgesagt-In a Nutshell, drops some Black Hole Science on us with their latest video. I dig science, and I’m not gonna lie, I’m fascinated by black holes. Maybe it has something to do with the Disney film The Black Hole, or maybe it’s that Event Horizon movie… either way, there’s more to black holes than I realized. Because learning can be awesome.
