A Little Bit of Awesome: 8/18/2020 Edition

A guy in Australia named Mark Rapley is being called “Husband of the Year” after he jumped on a great white shark and started punching it when it attacked his wife.  She ended up in the hospital, but survived.

Here’s a touching moment when a Down syndrome man reads a note from his brother asking him to be his best man.

There’s an engineer named Allen Pan who builds crazy stuff for YouTube videos.  And his newest invention is a gun that shoots masks onto people’s faces.  Obviously it’s just a joke, and he’s not using it on real people.  In the video, he tests it out on a mannequin.

Here’s what it sounds like when you sync a cat’s piercing shriek with Robert Plant’s opening howl in Led Zeppelin’s “Immigrant Song”.

An 11-year-old in the U.K. was bored in lockdown, and started drawing pictures of a rollercoaster he wanted to put in his backyard.  So his uncle actually built it for him.  It’s 230 feet long, and looks pretty legit.

A guy in England used his time in lockdown to build the world’s fastest motorized wheelbarrow.  It hasn’t been verified by Guinness yet, but he’s hit 44 miles an hour and thinks it can go even faster.  He built it using spare parts, and says he just wanted to get people’s mind off the pandemic.
