The Scoop for August 30, 2018

For my money, Bob Newhart is one of the the all time great comedians. Love that guy. And he’s still got it. Here he is busting an impression of Joe Pesci as the voice of your GPS. And yes, he’s still got it. Plus, I would love a Joe Pesci GPS.

If you don’t know Kanye West, well that’s ok. He’s kind of a big deal in the entertainment field. He’s known for being, well, let’s say excentric. Some say genius, some say crazy. He’s married to Kim Kardashian so you be the judge. But, if you’ve ever wondered why some of the things he says sound a bit odd, this could be the reason. He said he doesn’t get his ideas from books, but from, “…the spirit.”
Is it the spirit? Or the voices in your head? Or is that the same thing?

Remember when Michael Jackson was on “The Simpsons”? I know, you’re probably thinking, “There’s no way that was really Michael Jackson.” Well according to Simpsons creator Matt Groening, yes it was. But Michael didn’t want to take credit for doing the voice. I mean I get why he didn’t want credit for it, but if I ever got the chance to be on the Simpsons, I’d be tellin’ everybody.

Tom Cruise’s Top Gun sequel, Top Gun: Maverick, has been pushed back nearly a year from July 12, 2019, to June 26, 2020. The extra time will give filmmakers the opportunity to work out the logistics of presenting flight sequences with new technology and planes. Just so long as we get some more Iceman action, I’m good.
