Variety is reporting that Ryan Seacrest is in advanced talks to come back as host of American Idol when the show is rebooted on ABC next spring. According to an insider, final tweaks are being hammered out on a new contract for Seacrest, who recently joined Kelly Ripa as cohost of ABC’s Live with Kelly and Ryan. (I know this was a weak bonus scooopage, but there wasn’t much goin’ on today.)
