The Scoop for Nov. 30, 2018

During the White House tree lighting ceremony, interior secretary Ryan Zinke gave President Trump a new title. “The man who brought back Christmas.”
Back from where, Ryan? Last year? I think someone needs to sit Ryan down with a calendar and explain how they work.

So here’s a thing that’s happening that I never saw coming. Hugh Jackman is hitting the road next year… as a musician. Yep. He’ll be touring Europe and North America, playing songs from “The Greatest Showman” and “Les Miserables” and more. You can catch him in Chicago in June @ The United Center.

Speaking of musicians, Garth Brooks told the story of how he realized he should be doing music. He showed up at a bar with his guitar and they gave let him play one night. Then two, then the next thing he knew, he was playing five nights a week. That’s when it hit him. That’s exactly how I got this job. Weird. It’s like me and Garth Brooks are the same person.

Bonus Scoopage:
Disney is working on a live-action version of “Pinocchio”, and yesterday, and now there’s word that America’s favorite person, Tom Hanks, is in talks to play his creator, Geppetto. It’s still early, though. But still. That would be awesome.
