The Scoop for Oct. 30, 2018

With Megyn Kelly out at NBC, The Today show had to do some shuffling to fill that third hour of the show, and here’s what they came out of the blocks with Hoda Kotb, Al Roker and Craig Melvin. The only surprising thing about this line up, is I finally know how to pronounce Hoda’s last name. Cot-Bee. Who knew?

When you get a celebrity autograph, you probably keep it right? Well, I guess that depends on the celebrity. Back when Morgan Freeman was on The Electric Company, remember that? He did an autograph session at a mall, and when it was all done, well… They threw them all on the floor. I guess I don’t get what these people thought they were getting when they lined up for an Easy Reader autograph. Sure, you’d keep Shawshank Red’s autograph, but not Easy Reader? You know those people are kicking themselves now. And telling their friends about how they met him when… jerks.

So ABC is bringing Bob Saget back to host a edgier version of “America’s Funniest Home Videos”. It’s called “Videos After Dark”. I don’t know, I always thought Bob was always pretty edgy. I guess that Fuller House money didn’t go as far as he thought it would.

Bonus Scoopage:
Tyler Perry’s character Madea is extremely hard to kill — she even came back to life in Boo 2! A Madea Halloween. But Tyler says he’s finally retiring the character for good in his upcoming Tyler Perry’s a Madea Family Funeral. Perry said, “This is it. It’s time for me to kill that old [witch]. I’m tired!” Family Funeral, the 8th in the Madea series, opens in theaters on March 1, 2019, but the 11th time Tyler has appeared as Madea on the big screen. Yeah, that’s probably plenty.
