Totally Roasted Hard Cider

Rosatis

On Tap is brought to you by Rosati’s Pizza, 701 S. Gregory, Urbana.  217-328-2334.

This week, it’s a post Thanksgiving special edition featuring Totally Roasted Hard Cider from Vander Mill Ciders.  With it being the day after Thanksgiving, I thought a little change of pace was warranted, and I figured a hard cider would fit in just fine after all the eats.

Ryan’s Rating:  7.5

Shane’s Rating: 7.0

My Rating:  7.0

I’ll start by saying I’m a fan of hard ciders, but I’ve never had this particular one.  And right up front, I like this.  This cider is brewed with candied pecans and cinnamon.  This brings out some nice vanilla and, obviously, cinnamon, as well as hints of nuttiness.  Of course there’s plenty of apple flavor as well.  It kind of comes off as a slice of apple pie ala mode in your glass.  Not too sweet with a bit of a tart finish, I think this one does post Thanksgiving just fine.

Shane surprised us this week by bringing in a pizza before he knew what we were drinking, but it really worked.  It’s a large thin crust with sausage, bacon, and Italian beef with BBQ sauce.  I’m tellin’ ya’, that’s a serious pizza.  Pair that up with Totally Roasted cider, and you’ve got a meal while you drink your dessert.  Good stuff all the way around.
